Seeking Virēre evokes scenes of summers past—perhaps an intimate conversation in sun-dappled shade. A fable about kindness told through scent, with a carefully balanced bouquet of Maté, Petitgrain, and Mastic brewing up the comforting impression of Warm Tea, sipped beneath a canopy of calming Cypress.
All of this is contained in a newly redesigned bottle with an embossed Aesop insignia, and a pleasingly textured cap inspired by basalt—a rock on which our hometown of Melbourne was quite literally built.
All Aesop formulations are vegan containing no animal derived ingredients. We only use ingredients with a proven record of safety and efficacy.
Rooted in our long-standing reverence for literature and our namesake Aesop—the ancient Greek fabulist—the inspirations and emotions behind our fragrances are distilled into fable-like poems to pose questions through scent.
While no story should be judged by its cover, the Fragrant Fables arrive in pleasingly tactile bottles, with a new textured cap inspired by basalt rock native to our home city of Melbourne, and an embossed insignia on the amber glass.
Every online purchase of a 50ml and 100mL fragrance comes with a sample to try before you uncork the full bottle.
If you no longer wish to keep your Aesop packaging, please follow local waste and recycling guidance. Recycling options and accepted materials vary by location. Where facilities exist, we recommend separating packaging components and recycling them through the appropriate collection system.
Aesop also offers a Rinse and Return programme, allowing customers to return eligible empty packaging to participating stores for collection and transfer to specialist recycling partners. Availability varies by location. Please check your local store website for details.

Apply as desired to wrists and neck. Throughout the day, the aromatic profile will develop—a vibrant opening becoming agrestic, then comforting. Layer with complementary Aesop hand and body care formulations to enhance the aroma.
